F 10-04-1881 A. Huse moved from building on corner of Pine & Washington sts. to his home on Main st. / McHenry st. nearly opposite the Catholic Church.
F 10-18-1881 Mrs. M. Meikins / Meakins offers her property on the corner of Pine & Washington sts. for sale. Good business location, stone buildings, with well and cistern.
S 10-22-1881 John Hegemann advertises 2 story stone house on Geneva st. for sale. Also house for sale or rent on Liberty st.
F 10-25-1881 Mrs. M. Spoor fixing up residence on corner of Jefferson & Dyer sts. House occupied jointly by Eugene Hall and Robert F. Pettibone (and their respective ladies, per S 9/17/1881). F 10/4/1881 - Rev. L. A. Pettibone boards with Robert.
F 10-25-1881 A. Meinhardt has completed the foundation for a large barn on his lots south of Chandler's on Kane st. He will build the barn early in spring and, as soon as possible thereafter, will start erecting a residence.
F 10-25-1881 W. A. Colby started building residence on Pine "Av." just above the German Lutheran church. Also in S 11/19/1881. S 12/3/1881 - work progressing. S 12/24/1881 and F 12/27/1881 - Colbys moved to new home on Pine st. next to Mr. Nims residence.

F 10-25-1881 Charles Fallett on Main st. / McHenry st. a short distance from the depot erects a one story addition to his house.

F 11-15-1881 A. Helfrich bought lot on Pine st. from F. S. Perkins a short distance southeast of the "new" Episcopal church and will build a residence. S 11/19/1881 - Helfrich building new home. S 12/3/1881 - work progressing.
S 12-03-1881 Herman Wald and family moved from "Canada" to former Klingele house on Washington st. just below H. C. Buell residence.
S 12-17-1881 Jacob Brehm residence, known as "Rittmann house," threatened with fire, which was put out.

F 01-17-1882 Wm. Rhodes bought the brick house on Jefferson st. nearly opposite the J. S. Crane property. F 3/7/1882 - Rhodes repairing house and has raised frame of new barn.
F 01-17-1882 Frame raised on A. Helfrich's new house on Pine st.; 1 story, 28 x 28, with cellar, well, cistern, etc. S 3/11/1882 - house nearing completion. F 3/14/1882 - house completed. F 5/30/1882 - other buildings and grounds nearly completed.
S 01-28-1882 George M. Healy offers 113 acre farm 4 miles north of Burlington and 3-1/2 miles west of Rochester for sale.
F 01-31-1882 Farm residence of Maurice L. Ayers destroyed by fire. Also in S 2/4/1882. F 2/7/1882 - fire mentioned twice. F 4/4/1882 - M. L. Ayers to build new residence on farm near Honey Creek.
F 02-07-1882 F. Wegge offers house and lot on corner of Chestnut & Mill sts. for sale or rent.
