F 05-16-1882 George Verhalen bought Kumpf property on Geneva st. between C. J. Jones residence and Teutonia Hall. S 6/10/1882 - bought 3 pieces of land in village from Simon Kumpf estate. Also in F 6/13/1882 Moved in - F 10/24/1882.
S 05-20-1882 R. Reinger bought lots 7 and 8, block 67, from E. S. Sawyer.
F 05-30-1882 William Choak moved from Pine st. to east side of Fox river.
F 06-06-1882 Rev. D. W. Hulburt and family in house with A. Zernake / Zerneke on Lewis st.
F 06-06-1882 New Meinhardt home rapidly assuming proportions. S 6/24/1882 - work progressing. S 7/15/1882 - mason work finished. S 7/22/1882 - Roof being put on Meinhart house. S 8/5/1882 - more on house.
F 06-06-1882 Mrs. Becker completed new roof on her brick house at corner of Jefferson & West sts.
S 06-10-1882 House and ground formerly owned by Mrs. Crane and occupied by J. J. Foltz for sale. F 7/11/1882 - J. J. Foltz bought the widow Crane property on Dyer st., which he has rented for past 4 years. Also in S 7/15/1882.
S 06-17-1882 Julia Burhans offers 120 acre farm for sale.
F 06-20-1882 George C. Denniston and family rented brick house on Jefferson st. recently remodeled by William Rhodes. Also in S 6/17/1882.
F 07-11-1882 Neighbors have "hauling bee" for brick for M. L. Ayers new house near Honey Creek. S 8/5/1882 - M. L. Ayers' new residence at Honey Creek described.
S 07-22-1882 Mr. Vandersand / Vande Sand / VandeSand is putting up a handsome new brick house on the east side of the Fox river.
S 08-05-1882 George Verhalen is improving the residence he lately bought from the Kumpf estate.
S 08-12-1882 Frank Schwaller making extensive improvements at residence he recently bought. (Wagner residence on Geneva st.)
S 08-12-1882 Mrs. John Pennington Mather offers house and lot on State st. for rent.
F 08-29-1882 Eugene Hall moved to house lately occupied by Mrs. M. A. Forbes. (Hall house - corner of Geneva & Dyer sts. - later Knights of Columbus clubhouse)
F 08-29-1882 Mrs. Spoor expected to occupy her own house, corner of Jefferson & Dyer sts., being vacated by Eugene Hall.
F 08-29-1882 A. Koing / Koenig / King barn, about 3 miles southeast of Burlington, struck by lightning and burned down last Friday. Also in S 9/2/1882 - Koning.
S 09-09-1882 Meinhardt residence "looming up grand."
F 09-26-1882 Christian Boub offers all real estate holdings at auction Oct. 30. Includes lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7 of block 11 - good houses on lots 5 and 7 (block adjoining Fox river and bounded by Fox, Second - now Milwaukee ave., North - now Congress st., and Third sts.; and farm 2 miles southeast of Burlington on Kenosha road.
F 09-26-1882 J. C. von Rosenberg obliged to go to Europe; offers 188 acre farm at Norton's lake for sale. F 10/10/1882 - public auction of farm animals and equipment advertised. Also in S 10/7/1882 and S 10/14/1882.
F 10-03-1882 Vernon Raleigh bought John Watkins farm in Spring Prairie 2 or 3 miles west of Burlington.
F 10-10-1882 Dr. G. E. Newell and wife moved to Burlington; sold Waterford residence to Ira Rice. Also in S 10/7/1882.
S 10-21-1882 John Ries advertises auction at residence on Geneva st.
F 10-31-1882 A. Kercher / Karcher bought 220 acre farm 4 miles south of Burlington from Runkel estate.
S 11-18-1882 Mathew Cunningham moved to house he recently bought from Ad Hannas. F 11/28/1882 - house on corner of Jefferson & West sts. being repaired and improved.

The Museum, History Research Library, and Pioneer Log Cabin are open Saturdays from 10 am to 2 pm or by appointment. Please email to arrange an appointment.
