F 06-19-1889 O. Storley / Storle bought 13 acres from P. O. Briody on the high grounds just this side of Mrs. Jahns' park. Storle expects to plat building lots and to build a residence.

S 08-17-1889 William Fell moved to Zielke house on Second st.
S 08-24-1889 N. Fine, merchant tailor, moved family to Kuenzler (Kinzle, Kingsley) residence on Lewis st.
F 09-04-1889 T. M. Kearney building addition to his residence on (northwest) corner of Jefferson & Dyer sts. Also in S 8/31/1889 - new kitchen 16 x 16; part now used as kitchen to be raised and a story put under it. F 9/18/1889 - Kearney making extensive repairs.
S 09-14-1889 Ernst Teute / Teut bought Charles Hillman's 80 acre farm 2 miles northeast of Burlington.
S 09-14-1889 A. W. St. John visits the old brick schoolhouse (Whitman school) he attended 44 years ago and for a few years thereafter. Building is used as kitchen and store room for residence built adjoining.
F 09-18-1889 Conkey st., northwest side owners - sidewalk tax. Mrs. Thill and others had petitioned for sidewalk.:
