F 11-14-1888 Finke & Uhen bought Mrs. Christian Boub's farm a few miles south of Burlington on Kenosha rd.
S 11-17-1888 Residences being built by E. S. Voorhees, A. D. Smith, E. C. Benson, and L. Coombs. Latter 3 are on Lewis st.
S 11-24-1888 Gustave Haas and family occupy Andrew Reuschlein dwelling.
F 12-05-1888 E. S. Voorhees has new house on Dyer st. up and enclosed.
S 12-08-1888 Capt. J. Cavano leased out farm west of Burlington; advertises auction of articles.
S 12-06-1888 H. Rewald has new dwelling on fair ground nearly completed. S 12/29/1888 - building new barn.
S 12-15-1888 Henry Vaughn and family rented Spoor dwelling on Dyer st. F 12/19/1888 - Henry Vaughn and family occupy Spoor house opposite the Baptist church, recently vacated by Mrs. L. C. Anderson and family.
S 12-15-1888 Dr. L. N. Hicks has new barn.
S 12-15-1888 Mr. Schwanz bought Schorb property near malt house and will move to Burlington.
F 12-26-1888 Mrs. Hannaford bought house and four lots on Pine st., just south of A. Helfrich's residence, from Mr. Helfrich. Mrs. Hannaford intends to build a large residence in year or two.
F 01-02-1889 Nicholas Thomas bought lot from W. E. Chipman in grove on bank of Brown's lake; intends to build summer residence next spring. F 4/3/1889 - Nicholas Thomas building cottage.
F 01-09-1889 Joseph Arndt bought Henderson house and lots on east side of White river.
F 01-16-1889 Mrs. Mary E. I. Pratt and Edgar Terhune bought E. C. Benson farm of 156 acres just east of village limits on the road to Brown's lake; has been occupied by the Louis Smithers family. Also in S 1/19/1889. F 1/23/1889 - house being remodeled. S 2/16/1889 - Mrs. Pratt and family moved to new home on Benson farm.
S 01-19-1889 E. C. Benson bought J. B. Danforth residence on southeast corner of Jefferson (Washington?) & Dyer sts. F 1/16/1889 - on Washington & Dyer sts., known as the Sawyer property; to be occupied by Louis Smithers and family.
F 01-30-1889 Otis Vaughn hauling stone for foundation of new residence to be built on corner lot at rear of Opera House opposite the old Sawyer property on Washington & Dyer sts. Also mentioned in F 2/27/1889. F 4/17/1889 - frame to be raised. S 3/23/1889 - Vaughn residence being built on corner of Washington & Dyer sts.
F 02-06-1889 H. E. Zimmermann and family occupy rooms in rear of printing office vacated by Mr. & Mrs. Toner. Also in S 2/9/1889.
S 02-09-1889 Fire destroyed some sheds and outbuildings of Buell farm occupied by William Fell.
S 02-16-1889 Mr. & Mrs. George Eckert to live on Henry Robers farm in town of Lyons.
S 02-16-1889 Fred Bratz to move to farm he bought near Kansasville.
F 02-20-1889 George Norris offers for sale his 10-room house and 3 acres of land on east side of White river.
F 02-27-1889 Sawyer farm of 460 acres on Wheatland road offered for rent. F 3/27/1889 - Adam J. Hannas has rented the Sawyer farm.
F 02-27-1889 Miss Mary Noblet bought lot on Lewis st., formerly owned by H. C. Conklin, from H. E. Sheldon; intends to build residence.
F 02-27-1889 Chas. G. Foltz to build residence on southwest corner of Washington & Dyer sts.; old building to be removed. (House relocation)
F 02-27-1889 John Reynolds to build residence on his lot in the Lowe addition.
F 02-27-1889 F. H. Nims may put up 2 or 3 tenement houses, or maybe a french flat of 4 or 5 suites, during the coming season; and many others are intending to build in different parts of town.
