S 04-04-1896 Gus Bauman bought Henry Scheel residence on east side of Fox river, paying $1900 and team of black horses.
S 08-25-1894 Mrs. Persis E. Cooper offers residence (on West st.) for rent starting Sept. 1.
S 08-25-1894 Mrs. H. N. Kline bought lot on Amanda st. from Joseph Hoch and is building residence.
S 08-25-1894 H. Simpson, A. Huse, and Fred Keuper replaced brick walks in front of their Pine st. residences with plank walks.
F 08-29-1894 F. J. Buell bought T. W. Durgin farm of 136 acres west of town from Durgin estate. Also in S 9/1/1894.
F 08-29-1894 VandeSand & Salisbury have secured the contract for building a new house for Henry Breger / Pregger on the north side of Origin / Origen street, next to Mrs. Sammon's. (Pregger at 210 Origen st. in 1897 Directory. Mrs. Mary Boyle at 675 Origen in 1908-09 Directory - S 11/9/07 - Mrs. H. Pregger sold residence on Origen st. to Mrs. Boyle.) S 9/1/1894 - Henry Bruegger / Pregger let contract for building new house to VandeSand & Salisbury. It will be erected on lot adjoining Col. J. G. Wilson's residence on Origen st.
S 09-01-1894 R. G. Fraser's new home is about finished. Fireplace of huge boulders is a beauty.
S 09-01-1894 William Scheuermann / Schuerman bought Seitz residence on Randolph st. and will move in.
S 09-01-1894 Foreman Engel of malt house leased 2nd floor of Nic Weiler's building on corner of Pine & Washington sts. and will occupy same with family after alterations.
S 09-01-1894 William L. Jaeger and Emma Emrich / Emerich, married Aug. 29, leased Goetsch house on Chestnut st. near Jahn's Park and will move in about Sept. 15.
S 09-08-1894 Miss Maggie Wilson moved to new residence in Perkins Park.
S 09-08-1894 Rev. L. A. Pettibone offers residence for rent for 6 months beginning about Nov. 1.
S 09-08-1894 Henry Smith building foundation for new house in Weiler's addition.
S 09-15-1894 Frank Buschert / Boschert bought lot, 4 x 12 rods, on McHenry st. from William Rasch; started excavating cellar; will complete new house before winter; lot adjoins August Germann property.
S 09-15-1894 Noyes Lull residence just west of Jahn's Park struck by lightning last Friday; minor damage.
S 09-15-1894 Charles Mole and Ida Kees, married Sept. 11, to live in Kemptner house on east side of Fox river.
S 09-22-1894 R. G. Fraser and family moved to their new Geneva st. residence.
S 09-22-1894 Joseph A. Rueter to build residence on lots he recently bought on Randolph st.
S 09-22-1894 Carl Zelke offers for rent his 6 room residence near the White River bridge.
S 09-22-1894 A. J. Hannas and family moved to Zelke house on east side of White river.
S 09-22-1894 J. Frank Wray and family bought and moved to Hannas residence on east side of Fox river.
S 09-22-1894 Herman Willard building a new residence on east side of Fox river - main part is 16 x 28, with 16 x 16 wing and 16 x 16 kitchen.
S 09-22-1894 VandeSand & Salisbury have roof on A. F. Ransom's new residence near water tower and are pushing carpenter work. Residence will be brick veneered and will be one of the best in the city. (Albert F. Ransom at 300 James st. in 1897 Directory.)
S 09-22-1894 Frank Rueter building large residence on Liberty st. - front part, 16 x 24; main part, 16 x 32; wing, 16 x 20; and kitchen, 14 x 16. (House at 712 Liberty in 1908-09 Directory.)
S 09-29-1894 Ferdinand Richter and Mrs. Helen Loude, married Sept. 23, are living in Richter's residence on the east side of the Fox river.

The Museum, History Research Library, and Pioneer Log Cabin are open Saturdays from 10 am to 2 pm or by appointment. Please email to arrange an appointment.
