S 10-30-1867 For sale: Lathrop E. Smith (started Standard) residence in Burlington; acre of land - S 11/13/67. S 12/18/1867 - L. E. Smith sold residence on Liberty st. to Gideon E. S. Fellows of Spring Prairie. S 2/6/1868 - L. E. Smith and family leave Burlington.
S 01-08-1868 H. A. Sheldon residence for sale. Also in subsequent papers. Still in paper 2/9/1871.
S 01-29-1868 G. P. Martin - Physician and surgeon - residence in brick house on Geneva st. lately owned and occupied by Deacon Jacob Kesler. (Same business card in earlier editions back to at least May 1867.)
S 01-29-1868 Michael Murphy bought stone residence on corner of Johnson & Jefferson sts. from Mr. Hendricks.
S 02-05-1868 Fire destroyed house at foot of Washington st. near river. Owned by Mrs. Marianna Hass (Haas) and occupied by Ganz and wife. (Ganz was at work at Kautsky boot and shoe shop.)
S 02-05-1868 Brick house and lot on corner of Jefferson & West sts. offered for sale - apply to Mrs. Ann Baker / Becker on premises. Also in subsequent issues. (Note: This was property on which Cross Lutheran church, now Historical Society Museum, was built.)
S 02-12-1868 J. K. Howland bought half (100 acres) of William H. Dunning farm at Spring Prairie.
S 03-25-1868 For sale: J. H. Dallman / Dahlman farm of 240 acres on Racine & Burlington Plank road, 4 miles east of Burlington. Also in subsequent issues.
F 04-01-1868 Dr. Kords preparing to build house.
S 04-08-1868 A. Chamberlain of Spring Prairie has moved to his house on Chestnut st., opposite Fair Grounds.
S 04-08-1868 S. Avery traded his farm for Mr. Aldrich's house in town. Aldrich moved to farm; Avery to town.
S 04-08-1868 Joseph Rooker estate of 329 acres sold to John and Anthony Dahlman of Milwaukee.
S 04-08-1868 For sale: House and 2 lots on Lewis st. belonging to Edwin Stock. (Also in subsequent issues.)
S 11-12-1868 C. L. Graham and E. S. Voorhees have broken ground on their one acre lots on Maple ave. on the northeast corner of the large tract belonging to Palmer Gardner. (Kane st. area?)
S 12-03-1868 Edmund Berger bought farm formerly belonging to the Becker estate for a permanent residence. (Also in S 12/2/10 Years ago)
1869 In 1869, John Prasch sold his property in Walworth County and bought 273 acres in sections 31 and 32, Burlington, with large stone residence, and all the improvements. (Source: The History of Racine and Kenosha Counties, Wisconsin, 1879, p. 648.)
S 01-21-1869 T. J. Thompson advertises home and lot on Jefferson st. for sale; S 2/11/1869 - article. S 12/23/1869 - same ad.
S 01-21-1869 H. A. Sheldon offers residence for sale.
S 02-11-1869 John Baxter bought John Yunker brick house and lot on Pine st. House was built by E. O. Cole last season. Baxter will rent his farm and move to Burlington. Farm, 3-1/2 miles from Burlington on Kenosha rd., rented to Mr. Smith.
S 02-25-1869 Michael Farley offers 160 acre farm 1-1/2 miles west of Lyons on Western Union Railroad line for sale.
S 03-25-1869 T. W. Buell offers residence on corner of Dyer & Jefferson sts. for sale.
S 04-01-1869 For rent: small house near Fox River bridge by John Adams.
S 04-08-1869 For sale or rent: farm on Gardner's Prairie, 2 miles west of Burlington. Will trade for house in Burlington. William H. Dunning.
S 05-06-1869 Demand for houses in Burlington is high as many are selling their farms which have become valuable.
S 05-13-1869 For sale or rent: house on Dyer st. lately owned and occupied by John T. Fish.
