S 03-10-1944 Jacob Thom and son moved from L. F. Koch farm to Burlington.
S 03-10-1944 Tim Enright and son moved to L. F. Koch farm near Burlington.
S 03-24-1944 Auction of estate of Mrs. Luke Albrecht, 432 Edward st., to be held March 25 - ad.
F 04-06-1944 William Krueger bought home of late Mrs. Luke Albright on Edward st. Also in S 3/31/44.
F 04-06-1944 Gib Karcher - Karcher house on Highway 83 south of Burlington almost 100 years old and made of brick from Milwaukee.
F 04-06-1944 Dr. & Mrs. Jacob Weiler bought Joseph A. Rueter property on Jefferson st. Carrol Bushman and family rented house and work shop. William F. Reineman rented former Hose Co. no. 2 building for storage space. Also in S 4/7/44.
F 04-13-1944 Jake Kramer bought house at 739 Second st., occupied by George Klein, from Burlington Park Board. Also in S 4/14/44. F 4/27/44 - Kramer to move house. (House relocation)

F 04-20-1944 Legal description of property of Elizabeth A. Weinmann on McHenry st.
S 04-21-1944 Mr. & Mrs. Ray Zwiebel returned to Burlington from Waukesha and will move to their house on Kane st. when possible.

S 04-28-1944 A. S. Peck family moved from Newell residence on Henry st. to Ferd Robers place on Henry st., that Robers recently bought from Mrs. Fred Steffen.
F 05-04-1944 Jules Schranz bought Itzin property near water tower from John McCarthy, Sr. Also in S 4/28/44.
F 05-04-1944 Old Beller house has been removed (article did not say if it was moved or demolished) from east side of Fox river south of Jefferson st. bridge - park property; cellar filled in and ground leveled off. (House relocation)

F 05-11-1944 Leo Retzinger bought property on Conkey st. near Cooper school from Dr. A. J. Ketterhagen. S 5/19/44 - Mr. & Mrs. Retzinger sold farm at Mound Center and will move to Paddock Lake for a few months before moving to house they bought in Burlington.
F 05-18-1944 H. Huebner sold double flat in Burlington to Ed. H. Kuehne (Honey Creek col.) Also in S 5/19/44 (2) - H. E. Huebner house on Wilmot ave. F 5/25/44 - Residence is on Wilmot ave. and is occupied by Mrs. Orie Mohr. S 5/19/44 (2) - Mrs. Mohr and children to move from Huebner house to upper flat in Mrs. Ida Bayer’s home in Burlington.
S 05-19-1944 Fire destroyed barn on Joe King farm, operated by son Stanley, on Lyons-Spring Prairie road on May 12; fire caused by lightning strike.

The Museum, History Research Library, and Pioneer Log Cabin are open Saturdays from 10 am to 2 pm or by appointment. Please email to arrange an appointment.
