F 11-01-1949 Hotel Badger Annex on Geneva st. torn down this past week - photo (photo also in F 12/27/49). Believed to have been built in the early 1870s, the building was the George Verhalen home. Verhalen had store where present Wagner & Juranek clothing store is located. Verhalen home later sold to Charles Halverstadt / Halberstadt, who in turn sold the property to Fred Oberg about 30 years ago. Was adjacent to old Teutonia Hall.

The Museum, History Research Library, and Pioneer Log Cabin are open Saturdays from 10 am to 2 pm or by appointment. Please email to arrange an appointment.
