S 06-27-1903 The Misses Voelker and Miller bought the F. H. Nims residence property on Washington st.; possession Aug. 1. Also in F 7/1/03. F 8/12/03 - Miss Voelker's brother to move in. S 8/22/03 & F 9/9/03 - Miss Voelker's sister, Louisa, and Mr. & Mrs. P. Becker and family moved in.
S 06-27-1903 Alderman Frank VandeSand has the contract for building the Friedl residence on the corner of Amanda and Conkey streets. F 6/24/03 - Frank Friedl residence on the corner of Reynolds (?) and Conkey. S 7/18/03 - Frank VandeSand has the frame up for the new Friedl residence on the corner of Conkey and Amanda streets. (558 Conkey - 1908-09 directory). F 9/9/03 - Friedls to occupy new house. F 9/30/03 - Friedls now occupying house.
S 07-04-1903 Chas. Diener to build new residence of A. Zwiebel, Jr., on corner of Dyer & Jefferson sts. Also in F 7/1/03.
S 07-04-1903 Mrs. Julia McCarthy and family have moved to the residence on McHenry street which Mrs. McCarthy recently purchased, and which Frank VandeSand has recently overhauled and improved. Also in F 7/8/03.
S 07-04-1903 W. R. Vannorman, former mail carrier between Burlington and Waterford, moved to Burlington from Waterford.
S 07-04-1903 John C. Dahl and Emma Mattern, married June 27, to live with Mrs. Dahl on Chestnut st. Dahl works at Ben Holmes cigar factory.
S 07-04-1903 August Rubach and Emma Schaal, married June 30, to live on east side of Fox river.
F 07-08-1903 J. M. Christien family moved to their new residence in Perkins Park. Mrs. Julia McCarthy moved to McHenry st. house they recently vacated.
F 07-08-1903 Fred Henningfeld bought Brooks place near high school (Conkey st.) which he's occupied for the past year. Also in S 7/11/03.
S 07-11-1903 F. W. Schaab and wife to live in Burlington for summer.
S 07-18-1903 George W. Fiske building a new residence on Lewis st. S 9/19/03 - Foundation being built. S 11/14/03 - frame up for new residence.
S 07-18-1903 Henry Backes and wife departed for home in Kenosha on last Tuesday, after living in Burlington for past 2 months.
S 07-18-1903 Cement walks put down at residence L. A. Reuschlein is building on Chestnut st.
S 07-25-1903 Cement walk put down on Dyer st. side of Dr. G. E. Newell's residence property.
S 07-25-1903 New barn on Henry J. Hegeman farm replaces one destroyed by fire.
S 07-25-1903 E. L. Newbury and family to live in rooms over his saloon.
S 07-25-1903 John Raduenz bought 160 acres in towns of Burlington and Wheatland from George E. Rosenhauer; to move next spring.
S 08-01-1903 Jacob Smith and family moved to the Faitoute residence opposite the old high school building (Lincoln school). Also in F 8/5/03.
S 08-01-1903 New residence for William Wagner on Kendall st. - frame up and enclosed.
S 08-01-1903 Mrs. H. G. Folts residence on Liberty st. being remodeled by Fred Rewald.
S 08-01-1903 Old Hidding farm on Brown's lake, 102 acres and brick building, for sale.
F 08-05-1903 Henry Bollow to build a residence on the lot he recently bought on Conkey st., just west of his present residence. Also in S 8/1/03. F 9/2/03 - excavating.
F 08-05-1903 Miss Nellie A. Anderson sold to George McDonald the house and 2 lots on N. Chestnut st. occupied by Clarence L. Gleason. Also in S 8/1/03.
F 08-05-1903 L. A. Reuschlein to move to new residence on N. Chestnut st.; Frank Weinman will occupy house on Geneva st. vacated by Reuschlein. S 8/15/03 - Reuschlein family moved to new house.
F 08-05-1903 West side of Amanda st., between Conkey & Geneva sts., cut down in front of H. Konst's and Theo. Tenwinkle's. They will also build cement sidewalks in front of their places.

The Museum, History Research Library, and Pioneer Log Cabin are open Saturdays from 10 am to 2 pm or by appointment. Please email to arrange an appointment.

Whitman School is open by appointment or for special events.
