S 01-04-1952 Fire destroyed upper half of Carl Backlin farm home on old Stratton farm on Spring Prairie road. F 1/8/52 - Fire on New Year's day at Carl Backlin home 2 miles northwest of Burlington.
S 01-11-1952 Ed Schaal, who operated the Karcher farm south of Burlington for many years, to retire from farming; bought and will move to Ida Radeeg residence on Perkins blvd. S 1/18/52 - to have auction - ad.
S 01-11-1952 Chimney fire on old Roy Freeman farm on Hwy. 36, worked by Caspar M. Danto, quickly extinguished.
