Southport Telegraph - Racine County (included Kenosha) census in June 1842 showed total of 6,318 persons: 3,499 white males, 2,815 white females, 3 free colored males and 1 free colored female. Total population increased 2,843 from 1840 to 1842, a percentage increase of 82 percent.
